Akrama Sakrama
Also known as: akrama sakrama, regularisation scheme
Akrama Sakrama is the Karnataka scheme for regularising buildings and layouts that deviate from municipal rules, and it addresses planning breaches rather than defects in title.
Regularisation under the scheme can cure an unauthorised construction or a deviation from a sanctioned plan on payment of a prescribed fee. It has no effect on the ownership chain. A regularised building on land with a broken chain of title, a grant restriction, or an unresolved encumbrance is exactly as unsaleable as it was before.
- What it does not prove
- Regularisation does not confer, confirm or cure title. It is a planning remedy, not a property one.
- Applies in
- Karnataka
