ULPIN (Bhu-Aadhaar)
Also known as: Bhu-Aadhaar, unique land parcel identification number
ULPIN is a fourteen-character unique identifier assigned to a land parcel based on its geo-coordinates, intended to give every parcel in India a permanent, portable identity.
Because it is derived from geography rather than from an administrative number that changes on sub-division, ULPIN is designed to survive phodi, renumbering and boundary revision. Rollout is uneven across states, so it currently supplements rather than replaces survey-number-based identification in diligence.
